Chanel Le Vernis Blue Boy (Les Jeans de Chanel Collection Fall 2011 FNO)

Chanel Le Vernis Blue Boy ($29), though the mid-tone shade in the Les Jeans de Chanel collection, wouldn’t dare suffer from middle child syndrome; in fact, it has quickly taken the throne as a favorite amongst many Chanel Vernis cognoscenti.
“Dusty” colors have been popular for unique, yet understatedly chic nails. Chanel contributed to this trend and created a faded blue that resembles denim.
Blue Boy is a cool-toned grey-blue creme. Its dustiness gives off a calm sophistication compared to its sister Coco Blue, a vibrant and playful blue. It’s a simple solid color, but perhaps the most unique out of the Les Jeans trio without a twin in the market.
Its formula is the sheerest of the three, and also creamier compared to a typical Chanel polish, which is thin and watery in general. It flows over the nails easily and evenly, making application a breeze. I applied 2 thin coats, but I would have benefited from a 3rd coat, or a thicker 2nd coat. I love that it dries quickly to a shiny finish.
Fans of dusty colors will adore Blue Boy! I personally prefer polishes that give more contrast to my skin, such as a dark, vampy color or a vibrant summer shade, yet I enjoy this jeans-for-your-nails blue. What about you?
P.S. So the rumors were true…
