Julep Nail Vernis Michelle

There’s something so prim and proper about Julep Michelle.
That’s not a bad thing; it reminds me of uniforms or a smart blazer and when on the nails, it gives hands a lady-like sophistication without going the classic soft pink route.
It must have been named after a Michelle who exudes confidence, but not in an in-your-face manner. She’s a girl who is calm, collected and in control.
Michelle is a dark navy blue creme with a hint of dustiness. You won’t find a defining grey cast, but it’s not as vivid as a straight navy. Because of this, it’s “quiet” for a dark color and can work on a variety of skin tones. It seems to make my warm-toned skin appear more pale and even.
From my experience, Julep does cremes best. Michelle is very pigmented and creamy, and I didn’t have any trouble with potentially flooding the cuticles or having to cover up bald patches. One coat was almost enough and I applied two as usual. The finish is shiny even without a top coat, though it looks slightly more flat compared to non-dusty cremes.
If I were to compare this to another blue I’ve featured thus far, it would be Chanel Blue Rebel. They are both a smidgen dusty, with Michelle being much darker and less blue. I can’t get the word “classic” out of my mind when describing Michelle. It’s great to find a straight navy that doesn’t lean indigo as many blues do.

P.S. Do you have any plans for holiday-themed nails? I keep seeing so many cute nail art ideas and am wondering what to sport!
