Julep Maven Box #18: January 2013 Boho Glam (Neons & Nudes)

For January, Julep had followed the fashion brands and released their own “cruise collection” with the theme Escape & Unwind featuring neons and nudes.
I usually opt for the nail polish-only It Girl box, which it included three colors in the same family this month (champagne nude, yellow, and orange), so instead, I thought, “why not?” and opted for one that had the oddest combination of shades: the Boho Glam box.

Do you remember the OPI Shrek collection? The name Fiona in green definitely reminds me of that!
The Hand & Cuticle Stick is way overpriced for what is essentially moisturizer in glue stick form, but no complaints here as the Julep boxes are $19.99 a month for all of the above. 
There was a surprise this month, with “Swatch Me!” stickers already applied onto the cap of each polish. You’re supposed to take the outer cap off, then paint a swatch onto the inner cap.
I actually find this helpful, but I think the sticker could look better (and be applied more neatly). Also, they provided us with extras but I noticed the sticker quality for the extras aren’t as good as the ones already on the caps! Strange.
Oh, and I hope I’m not the only one who thought, “what do I do with these elastic thingies?” when I saw the neon bits. I guess they’re hair ties, but why are they so roughly tied with loose ends? Is that the trend these days? I’m so out of it! I will just laugh about it because the quote tells me “Laughter is an instant vacation.” True that.
The bright neon green is exactly what I expected, but the pink is actually prettier than I thought it would be! I haven’t worn them yet, but will surely report back when I do.

You know I got the same box. You made me lol with the comparison of the cuticle stick to a glue stick! I actually have OPI Fiona, so I’ll have to compare it to THIS Fiona, but I think Julep Fiona is more neon green than OPI Fiona, which is a little yellow-y. I thought the swatch me! stickers were a cute idea, although it was difficult to paint such a small area without getting any polish on the rest of the cap.
